Lloyd reveals Davis Cup selection
Tim Henman
I would urge tennis fans to come along to watch a remarkable athlete bid farewell to his tennis career

Lloyd on Henman
Great Britain's Davis Cup captain John Lloyd has sprung few surprises with his team to face Croatia in September.

Andy Murray and Tim Henman, in his last event before his retirement, head the selection alongside doubles specialist Jamie Murray and Jamie Baker, 21.

"I am confident that we are fully capable of winning the tie and securing our place among the elite tennis nations in 2008," said Lloyd.

The tie will take place on Wimbledon's Court One from 21 September.

Croatia are yet to announce their squad.

They should be able to call on world number 12 Ivan Ljubicic, but Mario Ancic is doubtful with a shoulder injury and Ivo Karlovic has not played for his country since 2005 because of a dispute with his federation.

Lloyd has once again opted against calling on British number three Alex Bogdanovic, who has never won a live Davis Cup match.

Lloyd said: "Croatia's record in the competition speaks for itself but I have picked world class players.

"Next month's tie promises to be a very special occasion not only for Tim and the team but for the British public and I would urge tennis fans to come along to watch a remarkable athlete bid farewell to his international tennis career."

Great Britain and Croatia have never previously met in the Davis Cup competition.

The winner of the tie at Wimbledon will be one of 16 nations in the World Group in 2008 while the loser will join the Euro/Africa zone group one.
