Former British number one Elena Baltacha hopes to return to action next month after five months out.
Baltacha last played at French Open qualifying in May
The 23-year-old Scot underwent back surgery in June but hopes to line up in the annual Aberdeen Cup exhibition between Scotland and England teams.
And after numerous injury problems, Baltacha is optimistic for next year.
"What drives me on is that I know I have the potential to get into the top 100 and my ultimate aim has to be to reach the top 50," she said.
"I have to believe I will come out stronger as result of all this, and I know this is the time to prove it."
And Baltacha is excited about teaming up for the second year with compatriot Andy Murray at the Aberdeen Cup.
"Andrew Murray is passionate about Scottish tennis and his achievements will help develop the game there, which is fantastic," she said.
"He has inspired a lot of youngsters to pick up a racket and I'm thrilled I will be playing alongside him again in just a few weeks."
