Tursunov claims maiden ATP title
Dmitry Tursunov
Tursunov is in the form of his career after an epic win over Roddick in the Davis Cup
Dmitry Tursunov beat Tomas Berdych in a third-set tie-break in the Mumbai Open final to land the first ATP title of his career.

The rain-delayed final had been due to be played on Sunday and the weather caused two stoppages.

The second break came at 5-5 in the deciding set and Tursunov then broke Berdych to lead 6-5.

The Russian failed to serve out, but he regained his composure in the tie-break to complete a 6-3 4-6 7-6 (7-5) win.

Tursunov is in a rich vein of form after leading Russia to a Davis Cup win over the United States in Moscow by beating Andy Roddick 17-15 in the fifth set of the deciding fourth rubber.

Berdych has now lost five finals on the tour this year.

"I had my chances, but Dmitry played the crucial points better," he said.

Tursunov was not altogether happy despite landing his first title.

"I am excited but I could have served and played better," he said.

"Its been non-stop tennis for me and I am tired."

Mario Ancic and Mahesh Bhupathi won their second consecutive doubles title by beating Rohan Bopanna and Mustafa Ghouse 6-4 6-7 (6-8) 10-8.
