Hawk-Eye on Federer's serve

Roger Federer produced an ominously impressive display to beat Fernando Gonzalez in the Wimbledon quarter-finals.

Here Hawk-Eye helps show how the defending champion kept his second serve away from Gonzalez' forehand, the Chilean's main weapon.

Federer is confident enough on his first serve to keep Gonzalez guessing and even hits a number of aces to the forehand side.

But the Swiss is wary of letting Gonzalez get a look at his second serve and almost without fail forces him to play a backhand return.

Compare this to Federer's tactics against Juan-Carlos Ferrero in the previous round and you can see what a deliberate ploy his serving pattern was in the quarter-final.
