Lleyton Hewitt
Lleyton Hewitt reached round four with a straight-sets victory over Justin Gimelstob at Wimbledon.

The Australian was given a thorough test, taking the opening tie-break after earlier missing two set points.

Gimelstob continued to rush the net, frequently launching himself into acrobatic volleys, but he usually found the ball fired straight back past him.

Hewitt found his range from the baseline to win 7-6 6-4 7-5, and faces Taylor Dent in the last 16.

The key moment of the match came in the first set tie-break, which Gimelstob led 5-3.

It was then that the 2002 champion stepped up a gear, finding a backhand pass and a magnificent lob to get to set point, which he converted with an ace and a loud "C'mon!"

Hewitt's first serve placement

Gimelstob immediately had treatment on his shoulder and dropped serve early in the second set, but fought back in the third before Hewitt's pressure proved too much.

A stunning backhand winner took the Aussie to break point at 6-5, at which point Gimelstob double-faulted, and Hewitt served out for victory.

American Dent, the 24th seed, beat Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic 6-3 7-6 (7-5) 6-3.

Hewitt was well satisfied with his performance but expects to step up a gear in the next round.

"I can definitely still play better," he said. "I've had a lot of tight points in the last couple of matches, which is what I need.

"It's been good that I've had to come up and play some big points, especially in the first set tie-break when I was able to lift another notch.

"That's what youre going to need when you face guys like Roger Federer, or Taylor Dent in the next round."
