Federer to lead Swiss against GB
Roger Federer
Federer will be expected to win both his singles matches
Roger Federer will lead Switzerland's challenge against Great Britain in the Davis Cup World Group qualifier on 23-25 September in Geneva.

The world number one missed his country's defeat to the Netherlands in March in order to rest.

Stanislas Wawrinka, Yves Allegro, George Bastl and Michael Lammer make up the rest of the five-man squad.

Switzerland's Fed Cup captain Severin Luthi will lead the side after previous skipper Marc Rosset was sacked in May.

Federer admitted the good form of British pair Greg Rusedski and Andy Murray had made him less confident of a Swiss victory.

"When the draw was made in May I was very confident, but now that confidence is more measured," he said.

"However, I am sure that the choice of clay is a good one."

Great Britain captain Jeremy Bates will announce his squad on Tuesday.

Barring injuries, Rusedski and Murray are certain to be included, with David Sherwood also likely to be named.
