Rangers v Berwick: Head-to-head
BBC Sport Online underlines the magnitude of Berwick Rangers' achievement in earning a draw against Rangers by highlighting the chasm between the clubs.

Berwick Rangers' Scottish Cup draw with their more famous Glasgow namesakes has rightly been hailed as equally impressive as the 1-0 cup victory the Borderers recorded over Rangers in 1967.

The gulf between the two has never been wider - Berwick sit bottom of the Second Division while Rangers are second in the Scottish Premier League.

Glasgow's Rangers have an expensively-assembled squad filled with international stars, while the most expensive player on view for Berwick on Tuesday night was Garry Wood, signed from Ross County for 5,000.

Tore Andre Flo, who was marked out of the game by the doughty Berwick defence, could pay the team's wages for months out of his own weekly pay packet.

Berwick's team is made up of a collection of part-time players whose day jobs range from road sweeper to call-centre worker.

The Borderers pulled in a crowd of over 4,000 for Tuesday night's cup tie but normally have to rely on the support of under 500 stalwarts whereas Rangers regularly play in front of 50,000 partisan fans.

A 100,000 bonus from live television coverage of Tuesday's tie, plus the extra cash guaranteed from Monday's replay, would make little difference to a club like Rangers.

But, for Berwick, it will not only help boss Paul Smith strengthen his squad but will be vital if improvements are to be made to dilapidated Shielfield Park.

Berwick midfielder Marc Anthony was capped at under-21 level by Scotland, but no Berwick player has won a full international cap in the history of the club.

Rangers, meanwhile, had six international players in their starting XI on Tuesday night, none of whom managed to pierce the home defence.
