A 23-point Gavin Henson-haul helped the Ospreys to a comfortable win over the Celtic League bottom side at the Gnoll.

The mercurial full-back scored one of the home side's three tries and booted 18 points as his team's pack punished the Scots in the wind and rain.

The win was a much-needed boost to the Ospreys after a troubled week that saw their manager depart and Gavin Thomas and Gareth Llewellyn transfer listed.

Replacement fly-half Colin Gregor managed a late try for the visitors.

The Ospreys, boosted by last week's win over Leeds that ended a 10-match losing streak, had the game all but won by half-time after opening up a 26-3 lead.

Playing with the elements, the home forwards had the upper hand in all phases, especially the scrum.

Henson set the Ospreys on the way with three early penalties against one from Glasgow outside-half Dan Parks.

The Ospreys full-back then benefited from a fine team move to cross for the opening try, which he duly converted.

Glasgow lost lock Andrew Hall to the sin bin after persistent infringements at the ruck, and while they were down to 14 men the Ospreys pounced for their second try through outside-half Shaun Connor.

The visitors had the wind in the second half, but the Ospreys were first to strike after the break with a try from centre Dave Tiueti.

A fourth try and bonus point eluded the home team, though, and it was a late runaway strike from Gregor that concluded the scoring.
