Ulster Rugby trio agree new contracts with province

Ulster have been boosted by news that Darren Cave, Robbie Diack and Declan Fitzpatrick have agreed new contracts with the Irish province.

Centre Cave will remain at Ravenhill until at least June 2013, with back row forward Diack and prop Fitzpatrick signed up until June 2014.

Diack will find himself eligible to play for Ireland in July, having been resident for a three-year period.

The South African was named man of the match in the recent win over Aironi.

Diack, one of five South Africans in the squad, has featured in all but one of Ulster's competitive matches so far this season.

Cave won his 50th cap for Ulster against Edinburgh last month, but missed last weekend's trip to Biarritz with a hamstring injury.

A product of the Academy system, Cave signed his first contract with Ulster in 2008 and won his first Ireland cap against Canada on the 2009 summer tour to North America.

The news follows the recent announcement that Irish international Stephen Ferris had committed his future to the province with a two-year extension to his contract.
