Ulster scored seven tries as they claimed a comfortable bonus-point win in the Irish derby clash at Ravenhill.

Tries from Stephen Ferris and Timoci Nagusa put Ulster in control although Fionn Carr went over before the break to leave it 20-10 at half-time.

Simon Danielli (2), Mark McCrea, Darren Cave and Bryn Cunningham added further tries in a dominant display.

Ian Humphreys kicked over 18 points in a victory which takes Ulster up to fourth in the Magners League.

Ulster were forced into an early change with centre Paul Steinmetz coming on for Paddy Wallace, who was stretchered off after a clash of heads with team-mate Ryan Caldwell in the first minute.

Ulster dominated a scrappy first half and all three tries came from turnovers.

Humphreys slotted over a penalty before Ferris stormed through for a converted 13th-minute try.

Keatley kicked a penalty for the visitors' first score on 18 minutes but Fijian wing Nagusa burst beyond the Connacht defence seconds later for another converted Ulster touchdown.

Keatley struck a penalty against the woodwork before Connacht struck four minutes from the break when Sean Cronin's surging run set up Carr for a try in the corner, with Keatley adding the two extra points.

Nagusa came off with a hamstring injury while Humphreys thumped over a penalty with the last kick of the half.

Keatley's penalty reduced the gap to seven points just after the restart but Ulster were soon to regain control of the game.

Scottish wing Danielli, the replacement for Nagusa, took a Humphreys pass before cutting through the middle for a converted try in the 53rd minute.

McCrea ensured the bonus point with a clinical finish three minutes later after a turnover on Connacht's scrum and Humphreys maintained his perfect record with the conversion.

Danielli burst clear form halfway and outpaced Gavin Duffy to touch down in corner for Ulster's fifth converted try with 10 minutes left.

Cave went over as Connacht crumbled and Cunningham sprinted down the line before claiming the final try.

Man-of-the-match Humphreys missed his final conversion attempt - the only blemish in an outstanding display.
