Sale survived a second-half fightback to defeat Leeds and earn their second LV= Cup win in as many games. Sean Cox went over off the back of a maul and Rhys Crane sprinted clear after mistake by James Parkes to help Sale to a 17-3 half-time advantage. A charge down allowed Scott Barrow to cross and start the Leeds revival before Matty James slotted two penalties to give Sale breathing space. Leeds came back again through Scott Mathie's try, but it was not enough.
