1618: The champagne starts to flow as the Cardiff Blues players lift the EDF Energy Cup trophy. Well done to them. As the crowd begins to filter out of Twickenham, this seems to be a good moment to say goodbye. Thanks for your company, see you soon.

"Well done to Cardiff, outplayed Gloucester in every single department. Absolutely embarrassing performance from Gloucester."
dammit_chris on 606

"Gloucester coach Dean Ryan will be feeling the pressure because his team are not winning anything. How long does the chairman stick with him?"
BBC Sport pundit Jeremy Guscott

"I could not have asked any more of them. The players have put in a lot of work but there has been a lot of work behind the scenes as well. It is great to see a lot of smiling faces."
Cardiff Blues director of rugby Dai Young

FULL-TIME Cardiff Blues 50-12 Gloucester
Cardiff Blues claim their first ever trophy as a region and no-one will deny that they completely deserved victory today. A simply brilliant performance which will make Heineken Cup semi-final opponents Leicester sit up and take notice.

80 mins: TRY Cardiff Blues 50-12 Gloucester
The rout is completed. Paul Tito releases Tom Shanklin and the centre crashes over. Blair's conversion brings up the half century.

77 mins: TRY Cardiff Blues43-12 Gloucester
Cardiff add another try with another wonderfully-worked move. Tom James makes the yards before looping his arm around the tackler to pass to flanker Martyn Williams out on the wing. Without hesitating, he fires the ball back in for Blair to score. Simply brilliant and completely deserved. Blair converts.

73 mins: TRY Cardiff Blues 36-12 Gloucester
Finally some joy from Gloucester. Simpson-Daniel produces a moment of magic to put his side right on the Cardiff line. There are a succession of scrums and eventually referee Rolland runs out of patience with the Blues forwards and awards a penalty try. Barkley adds the extras.

68 mins: TRY Cardiff Blues 36-5 Gloucester
Dreadful, dreadful. A long Cardiff kick from deep is not collected by the Gloucester defence. Replacement fly-half Ceri Sweeney gratefully accepts the gift to run from 30 metres. That really was poor concentration from Dean Ryan's men. Blair kicks the conversion.

67 mins: TRY Cardiff Blues29-5 Gloucester
A high ball into the Cardiff half is collected by Ben Blair after Shanklin seems to block a chasing Olly Morgan. Cardiff counter and prop Gethin Jenkins offloads to Blair on his shoulder for a simple try. Easy. Blair adds the extras.

65 mins: All a bit scrappy. Gloucester hooker Olivier Azam breaks through the Cardiff defence but the attack ends when James Simpson-Daniel throws the ball out of play.

"Amazing. A whole quarter without a score despite a fizzing tempo. Barkley's introduction gets a subdued welcome with his move to Bath all but rubber-stamped."
BBC Sport's Charlie Henderson at Twickenham

61 mins: Hazell is forced off after receiving what seems to be a blow to the ribs. Scott Lawson comes on. Olly Barkley, who is back off to Bath next season, replaces fly-half Lamb. Rhys Thomas comes on for hooker Gareth Williams.

59 mins: Sub time. For Gloucester, scrum-half Gareth Cooper and flanker Andy Hazell replace Rory Lawson and Qera while Cardiff's Andy Powell comes on for Ma'ama Molitika.

57 mins: Lovely interplay involving Shanklin puts Robinson into space. He kicks forward into the in-goal area but it is too strong and the diving Jamie Roberts cannot get there in time.

55 mins: Nicky Robinson delivers a delightful chip over the top of the Gloucester line that bounces out inside the 22. Cardiff pile forward but Taufa'ao Filise gets in front of his own ball carrier and the move breaks down.

52 mins: Italian lock Marco Bortolami comes on for Gloucester, replacing Will James.

50 mins: Gloucester are forced to defend as Cardiff attack again. They manage to keep the Blues out but then there is some more aerial tennis. The game has definitely lost some intensity.

48 mins: Finally the stand-off ends with a superb step and break from Ryan Lamb. He gets his side out of their own 22 and into an attacking position but the move breaks down when flanker Akapusi Qera charges into a ruck leading with his head. Halfpenny gets lengthy treatment but rejoins the action.

46 mins: Cardiff Blues are pegging Gloucester back in their own half with some searching kicks to touch. Gloucester are responding in kind - which does not make it a spectacle to be fair. Surely Gloucester have to try and keep the ball in hand?

"Three ball boys look a little non-plussed after someone nicks the ball they were playing with. That someone is only Cardiff sub and Welsh rugby legend Gareth Thomas. Fair enough."
BBC Sport's Charlie Henderson at Twickenham

41 mins: Gloucester start the half knowing that they really have to score first if there is any chance of victory. The early signs are good for the Cherry and Whites, at least they are in Cardiff's half of the field.

1522: The teams are back out, with the Blues having to wait for Gloucester. Here we go for the second half.

"What we are seeing is a side full of confidence. Every facet of the game Cardiff are doing well. If anything, they have gone wide a little too much because if they straighten up, they are many more tries to be had."
BBC Sport pundit Jeremy Guscott

HALF-TIME Cardiff 22-5 Gloucester
The whistle goes and the players trudge off after an entertaining half of rugby. Gloucester will need to produce something special if they are to win this.

38 mins: TRY Cardiff Blues 22-5 Gloucester
In truth, this was coming. Cardiff go through the phases and wing Tom James receives the ball out wide. Ryan Lamb does his best to try and bring him down but James has the presence of mind to put the ball down behind him in the corner as he falls. The decision is referred upstairs and the try is given. Blair misses the difficult conversion.

36 mins: The Blues are prodding and probing in the Gloucester half but they are being well contained - for now. Rory Lawson tidies up a cheeky grubber down the line. Apparently, Jason Spice has fractured a bone in his arm.

30 mins: TRY Cardiff Blues 17-5 Gloucester
Gloucester give the ball some width and wing Mark Foster charges towards the line. Halfpenny trips him but the tackle is not completed and Foster stretches over for the try. For the neutral, that is exactly what the game needed. Lamb misses the conversion.

"Gloucester full-back Olly Morgan hoped for a 'Fortress Twickenham' atmosphere and while the English side definitely have the better of the support, the Welsh have found their voices quicker - and why not? It might be one-way traffic, but Cardiff be warned - the day's previous winners started playing towards the North Stand. At least it's a straw for Gloucester to clutch to... unless they knock it on."
BBC Sport's Charlie Henderson at Twickenham

27 mins: Cardiff have had 73% possession so far this half. Says it all really. Gloucester, however, do have a line-out deep in the Blues half but they make a complete horlicks of it and the Welsh side win the ball back.

"Cardiff haven't been particularly good. But the Gloucester defence is woeful! Continuous, easy line breaks from poor tackling. Though to be fair, the off-loading has been spectacular. Don't expect this kind of ride against the Tigers, that's all I'm saying."
DarcTiger on 606

22 mins: Ryan Lamb is lucky not to be sent to the sin-bin after taking out Richie Rees off the ball. From the resulting penalty touch, hooker Gareth Williams receives the ball back from the receiver and charges down the line to the corner. Gloucester somehow get back to bundle him out.

20 mins: TRY Cardiff Blues 17-0 Gloucester
This is all too easy for Cardiff. Gloucester's first-up tackling is appalling and after Jamie Roberts makes a half break, they are in trouble again. Shanklin off-loads to rampaging flanker Martyn Williams and the nugget has the vision to release Halfpenny for his second try of the match. Simple. Blair adds the conversion.

19 mins: PENALTY Cardiff Blues 10-0 Gloucester
Gloucester are pinged by referee Alain Rolland for joining a ruck from the side. Blair steps up to thump the ball through the posts and Cardiff's lead is extended.

"We're in for a loooooong day - Glaws fan!"
Petebuddle on 606

16 mins: Gloucester just cannot get out of their own half. Rory Lawson boots clear to give his side some respite only for the Welsh side to come again.

11 mins: TRY Cardiff Blues 7-0 Gloucester
Nicky Robinson, who is moving to Gloucester next season, makes an incisive break and the English side are in trouble. Centre Tom Shanklin is involved before Richie Rees passes out of the back of his hand to wing Leigh Halfpenny on the loop who crosses for the try. Wonderful, wonderful try. Blair adds the extras.

"Cardiff already look in great form. Gloucester will have to watch these big midfield players that the blues have."
eirebilly on 606

7 mins: Cardiff Blues are forced to defend for the first time after an Anthony Allen kick is placed deftly behind the defensive line. Olly Morgan chases, the ball bobbles around in the 22 and Cardiff are penalised for not releasing. Ryan Lamb steps up to take the kick but he misses too.

5 mins: Oops. Ben Blair, who kicked the Blues to victory over Toulouse last weekend, has a simple-looking attempt at goal but he pulls it and Gloucester escape again.

2 mins: Wonderful start by the Blues, who close in on the Gloucester line after some wonderful off-loading. They get to the corner but a penalty is conceded and Gloucester can clear. Blues scrum-half Jason Spice, who is moving to Bristol next season, is forced off with an arm injury and is replaced by Richie Rees.

1 min: Blues start the match in beautiful sunshine at HQ.

"Some of us have been here since 1000 BST. Two matches done already and some good omens for Gloucester since that early start. Hartpury College, where they train, won the Intermediate Cup, and Moseley, with whom they have strong ties, denied Leeds the double and claimed the National Trophy."
BBC Sport's Charlie Henderson at Twickenham

"I don't think there is any chance of a hangover after Cardiff's win over Toulouse last week. It was a tough fixture. Everyone was a bit wary of Toulouse but the Blues played very, very well, so will be on a real high."
BBC Sport pundit Jonathan Davies

1420: Big day for both clubs. Gloucester will be desperate to overcome their 'chokers' tag after losing three play-off finals despite topping the Guinness Premiership at the end of the regular season. The Blues have yet to claim a trophy but are boosted by last week's 9-6 victory over Toulouse in the Heineken Cup quarter-finals. They have beaten Gloucester twice already this season, in the Heineken Cup pool stages, while Dean Ryan's men are without experienced internationals Mike Tindall and Iain Balshaw.

"Cardiff should win but it'll be close. If Cardiff's centres click then it might be a long afternoon for Glaws. Score 25-18."
WelshLeeds on 606

1413: There is not much time before kick-off but I want as much chat from you as possible before the game starts. Hopes, fears, predictions - you know the sort of thing. Get involved using the 606 or send me a text using 81111.

1410 Afternoon troops. After some rubbish weather this week, we have a glimpse of summer outside which means one thing - it's Cup final day. EDF Energy Cup final day in fact - and don't try and tell the fans of the Cardiff Blues and Gloucester that this competition does not mean anything. For the players meanwhile, this will be the last opportunity to impress the Lions selectors ahead of the squad announcement next week so there is plenty at stake for both clubs.

So settle down with any drink you fancy, and I'll take you through the action.
