English trio win in Challenge Cup
European Challenge Cup
England's Mark Cueto and Rory Lamont of Scotland each scored twice as Sale eased to a 53-14 European Challenge Cup with over Italian side Petrarca.

Chris Day, Lionel Faure, Dean Schofield and David Tait also touched down, with Lee Thomas kicking 16-points in a one-sided match.

Worcester put their poor domestic form behind them to beat Montauban 41-18.

And Bath beat Parma 28-0 to complete a clean sweep for English clubs after Leeds' 23-20 win over Dax on Friday.

Worcester forgot about their poor domestic form as they ran in five tries to pick up a bonus point against Montauban.

Bureaucratic red tape meant new signing Greg Rawlinson was forced to watch from the sidelines as Shane Drahm had a particularly impressive game, scoring 21 points including the final try.

Bath made hard work of beating an Italian side who had never won in England.

World Cup winner Butch James made his debut and pulled out a moment of inspiration to send Olly Barkley under the posts to ensure maximum points for Bath.

It took until first half stoppage time for Steve Borthwick to put Bath ahead, when the visitors were down to 14 men after Parma prop Fabio Staibano was yellow carded.

Bath continued to put on an unconvincing display in the second half before centre Alex Crockett went over for a try.

On Friday night Leeds set the ball rolling with a hard-fought 23-20 win in Dax.

Victories in the home and away games against Calvisano will give coach Daryl Powell's team a spot in the last eight.

And Irish side Connacht made their highest score in Europe as they cantered past Spanish side Cetransa El Salvador 75-8.

Winger Ofisa Treviranus and centre Danny Riordan both bagged two tries inside the hour and Riordan's third in the dying minutes took the home side past the 70-point mark.
