Hooper ready for St Helens return
By Dave Woods

St Helens stand-off Jason Hooper is set to end his seventh-month injury nightmare against Leigh on Friday.

The Australian has been sidelined since damaging his knee in last September's Super League game against Warrington.

"He has gone through mental torment because the injury has taken longer to heal that first expected," said Saints coach Ian Millward on Wednesday.

Doctors drilled into Hooper's knee to extract fluid, which means he will walk with a noticeable limp until match fit.
