Hull KR eased to victory over struggling Catalans Dragons who stay rooted to the bottom of Super League.

Rovers grabbed two first-half tries from Ben Galea and Kris Welham which scrum-half Michael Dobson converted.

The visitors upped the pressure after the break but Hull broke through again, Scott Murrell touching down from a well-executed Liam Watts pass.

The Dragons cut the deficit though Sebastien Raguin but Dobson was on hand to run over and convert his fourth.

Rovers started perfectly when, in the second minute, Joel Clinton charged down a kick and Welham made the break to feed Galea who cruised in from 20 metres before Dobson converted.

David Ferriol was held up over the hosts' line as the Dragons asserted sustained pressure.

With 19 minutes on the clock Welham burst off Scott Murrell's short pass and Dobson again added the extras.

The Dragons enjoyed the lion's share of possession before the break but let themselves down with repeated handling errors.

The visitors continued to probe the Robins defence in the second half but Rovers extended their lead with 51 minutes gone when Murrell received a pass from Liam Watts, and Dobson was again accurate with the kick.

Five minutes later Raguin went over in the left corner and Thomas Bosc slotted from wide out.

Tempers flared as the game drew to a close as Setaimata Sa and Clinton clashed and referee Ian Smith made note of the incident in his report.

With three minutes of normal time left Dobson collected a loose ball and sprinted 90 metres before converting his own try to wrap up a fine individual performance.

Hull KR coach Justin Morgan:

"I spoke to the senior players and told them I wanted them to come out and do a job and they responded in the best way possible.

"I thought we coped with the conditions very well although at times we made some unforced errors and put ourselves under some pressure but I thought we responded very well.

"Everything we got we had to earn. We had to earn every point and every bit of field position as there was nothing gifted to us.

"I am really proud of the boys especially as there was also some pressure on them on the back of the match at St Helens."

Dragons coach Kevin Walters:

"We had a lot of ball and field position but we didn't have a recognised number nine and at this level without a quality player in that position you have problems.

"Also we did not have much luck. We got over the line a couple of times but they held us up and that was good defence by Rovers.

"We also lost a couple of players during the match. After the win last week I said to the guys that maybe we were playing in the wrong division.

"It is a difficult time but we hope to have Clint Greenshields back and Casey McGuire for next week and that's couple of things which should help as we are really just busted."
