Leeds in seventh heaven
Harris' missed kicks may have cost his side dear
Leeds 20-12 Castleford

Leeds recorded their seventh successive win in the Super League at the expense of Castleford.

The Rhinos looked as if they were on their way to a shock defeat at Headingley, but with 11 minutes left of regulation time Australian forward David Barnhill went over and then in injury time fellow countryman Graham Mackay grabbed another try to make it a good day for Leeds.

The visitors took the game by the scruff of the neck from the start with prop Nathan Sykes and full-back Jason Flowers brilliantly linking up to expose gaps in the Leeds defence.

In fact Flowers was unlucky not to collect a try for all his hard work but a forward pass denied him the opportunity.

Moments later Rhinos' full-back Francis Cummins intercepted a Barrie-Jon Mather pass and sprinted 90 metres only to be brought back after having been adjudged to be offside.

But the home side got their due reward when Great Britain centre Keith Senior pounced on a kick from Ryan Sheridan to go over for his seventh try in five games.

They added to their advantage when second rower Kevin Sinfield went over for his try.

But the Tigers soon responded through a touchdown from second rower Dale Fritz, although the visitors had to make do without their captain Adrian Vowles after he picked up an injury before the break.

Iestyn Harris missed with both his goalkicks for Leeds as his side trailed by four points at half-time.

However they came out fighting after the interval and sustained pressure finally paid off when Barnhill and then Mackay took advantage of some loose Castleford defending to give the Rhinos a valuable win.
