Salford target brand new stadium
Salford City Reds have applied for planning permission for a new 20,000-seater stadium.

The ground will be part of a 130m development in Barton, three miles from their existing Willows ground.

The application, which will be heard by the local council in October, includes a hotel and leisure complex.

Councillor John Merry, leader of Salford Council, said: "A new stadium is a must if Salford City Reds are to compete with the Super League elite."
