Late Brooker show breaks Salford
Gary Price in action
Gary Price scored two tries for Wakefield
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats 32-22 Salford City Reds

Justin Brooker was Wakefield's saviour with two late tries to record a tight victory over Salford.

The Cats had a 10-point lead at one stage, but the Reds fought back and took a two-point lead on 70 minutes.

But Brooker had the last word grabbing two tries for the Cats one to clinch victory.

The Reds took the lead after 10 minutes when Francis Maloney went in for a try after a great break from Warren Jowitt.

But the Cats responded with a try from assistant coach Gary Price.

And they extended their lead further when Reds fullback Graham Holdroyd was sin-binned, scoring two further tries in six minutes.

Price got his second and Jamie Field the other with Paul March adding both conversions.

The Reds hit back with a second try from Maloney - converted by Holdroyd - but Wakefield went in six points ahead at half-time.

Waisale Sovatabua added another try to Wakefield's tally, but Nick Pinkney hit back with a try, converted by Holdroyd, for the visitors to reduce the margin to four points.

And they edged into the lead when substitute Andy Coley scored with 10 minutes remaining.

But Brooker broke Salford's resolve with his late show, giving his side all the points.
