England beat South Africa in the 2005 World Championships
England have been drawn with South Africa, Barbados and Malaysia in the group stages of November's World Netball Championships in New Zealand.

England are seeded fourth for the event in Auckland from 10-17 November with South Africa the fifth seeds.

Wales face a tough test after being drawn with world champions New Zealand while Scotland are in the same group as second seeds Australia.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the knockout stages.

The 2007 World Championships were switched to New Zealand after a military coup in Fiji where they were originally scheduled to be held.

England start their preparations for Auckland with a Test series against Australia and New Zealand on home soil from 13-17 May.

England head coach Margaret Caldow believes the two matches - against New Zealand in Manchester on 13 May and against Australia in London on 17 May - will be useful preparation for the World Championships.

"While the players and I know we have more to do, it will be important for us to know exactly where we sit regarding our preparations for Auckland," she said.

England beat South Africa in the quarter-finals of the 2003 World Championships before losing to Australia in the last four.

Groups for the 2007 World Championships

Group A: New Zealand, Wales, Malawi, Botswana
Group B: Australia, Trinidad & Tobago, Samoa, Scotland
Group C: Jamaica, Fiji, Singapore, Cook Islands
Group D: England, South Africa, Barbados, Malaysia
