Belfast Giants coach Ed Courtenay has praised the recent contribution of veteran former NHL star Theo Fleury.

"He has shown in the last few weeks why he was such a good player in the best league in the world and why he was considered one of the world's best.

"He has really stepped it up a gear and while everyone has contributed in recent weeks, Theo has led the way with his experience and his super workrate.

"He has played fantastically and is leading by example at 38 years old."

The Giants coach is hoping his side can continue their form for the remainder of the season.

"We have played well all year, with just a few hiccups here and there, but we will assess what we have to do on Monday morning and see what we have to do for the rest of the year."
