Rembrandt ruled out of National
Sir Rembrandt
Sir Rembrandt has been placed in successive Gold Cups
Sir Rembrandt, third behind Kicking King in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, has been ruled out of a tilt at the John Smith's Grand National.

Trainer Robert Alner said the horse, who was second in the 2004 Gold Cup, could run in another race at Aintree.

He is considering running Sir Rembrandt in the £150,000 Betfair Bowl on Thursday 7 April.

"The horse is not definitely coming to Aintree at this stage," said the Dorset-based trainer.

"We will be taking a view over the weekend. We like to make plans, but having said that he really would like the ground to be pretty soft."
