Attraction takes Ascot win
Kevin Darley guides Attraction to victory
Attraction maintained her extraordinary unbeaten record with a clear victory in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The Mark Johnston-trained filly led from the start and simply increased her lead throughout the race to reach the line two-and-a-half lengths clear.

Attraction, ridden by Kevin Darley, added to her historic English-Irish 1,000 Guineas double in May.

Ted Durcan's ride Majestic Desert came in second, with Kieren Fallon's Red Bloom a further head back in third.

"When she turned for home they were all trying to go after her, but she hadn't even started going yet," said Johnston.

"She is definitely the classiest horse I have trained.

"That is eight wins and three Group Ones in a row. I have had nothing to compare with her and I don't think many trainers have."

Darley was full of praise for Attraction, telling BBC Sport: "She's something else - that is the difference.

People keep saying she's a freak... she keeps breaking all records
Jockey Kevin Darley hails Attraction

"You just throw the reins at her and she takes the race by the scruff of the neck herself.

"Everybody who was worried about her going round a bend for the first time need not have - she is that much of a professional.

"She got a bit keen running up the hill today, but once she saw the road she pricked her ears and got herself right for the turn. Once she straightened up it was all over.

"People keep saying she's a freak.

"She keeps breaking all records, and she's so easy to ride that she makes my job that much easier."

Race result:

1 Attraction (K Darley) 6-4 Fav
2 Majestic Desert (T E Durcan) 25-1
3 Red Bloom (K Fallon) 10-3
11 ran Dist: 2, Hd
