Paralympic challengers: Jody Cundy

A former swimmer with three Paralympic golds, Jody Cundy has enjoyed more success since switching from the pool to the velodrome in May 2006.

It will be the 29-year-old's fourth Games, but like team-mate and fellow former swimmer Sarah Storey, he will be making his cycling debut.

Cundy is a below-the-knee amputee having been born with a deformed foot which was amputated when he was just three-years-old.

He won gold in the kilo event in his LC2 category at the World Championships in 2006 and 2007 and has improved the world record by over three seconds in that time.

His main challenge will come from Czech rider Jiri Jezek, but the man who hails Chris Hoy as his inspiration will hope to emulate the Scot's success at the Laoshan Velodrome.
