HTC's Michael Albasini grabs Tour of Britain lead

Tour of Britain powers through Wales

HTC-Columbia's Michael Albasini seized overall lead of the Tour of Britain as he powered to victory in the third stage between Newtown and Swansea.

The Swiss rider is now one minutes 26 seconds ahead of Team Sky's Greg Henderson in the general standings.

Albasini overhauled Ian Bibby and Stijn Neirynck as the trio climbed Constitution Hill in the final 1.5km.

Henderson was 13th, while team-mate Bradley Wiggins was down the field, almost five minutes off the pace.

The result leaves Wiggins 14th overall.

"I just went like crazy and at the top there was nobody else there," said Alabasini.
