Cavendish and Wiggins win stages

For the second day running, Cavendish beat Robbie McEwen in the sprint

Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins completed a British double on the final day of the Three Days of De Panne race.

Cavendish won his second sprint finish in a row, from Australian Robbie McEwen, in the morning 112km stage.

Wiggins, who rides for the Garmin team, won the afternoon 14.25km time trial in De Panne to conclude the Belgian event.

Belgian Frederik Willems, from Liquigas, won the race overall after day-three leader Filippo Pozzato was delayed by a crash in the morning.

Cavendish is racing for the first time since the Track World Championships where he finished sixth alongside Peter Kennaugh in the madison after Kennaugh suffered a crash.

Testing his road legs ahead of next week's Ghent-Wevelgem one-day race, he was a half-wheel faster than veteran McEwen.

Double Olympic track medallist Wiggins is taking a year away from the velodrome to concentrate on road racing.

He completed the course in 18 minutes 1 second to edge out Dutchman Liewe Westra by 20 sec and Belgian Stijn Devolder by 32 sec.
