Wales thrash England by innings

Wales recorded a crushing victory over England by an innings and 44 in their centenary baseball international in Cardiff.

England were bowled out for just 30 in their first knock by Grange Albion's Matthew Hopkins on his debut.

Wales then ran up 100 in their first innings, Paul Jones scoring 17 runs with Leighton Martin and captain Norman Parselle each grabbing 12.

England never got going in their second innings and were all out for 26.

"It was a great performance with Hopkins with his bowling and Jones at backstop the undoubted stars of the game," said Welsh Baseball Union spokesman Mark Jones.
