This year, says Woodson, "We've seen the emergence of two coaches who are going to have great careers."
A Steelers assistant when they last won the Super Bowl three years ago, Ken Whisenhunt was then passed over for the Pittsburgh head coaching job in favour of Mike Tomlin.
Instead he moved to the Cardinals, who have not won an NFL title since 1947 and had not even appeared in the play-offs since 1998, and led them to a Super Bowl in his second season.
"Arizona weren't doing anything but in two years he's changed the mindset of the players. They believe they can win games," says Woodson.
Tomlin, aged 36, is the youngest head coach ever to lead a side to the Super Bowl and Woodson says: "He's a great motivator.
"Any time the players like their coaches, they're going to play hard for them."
