The New York Giants set up a second round play-off date with the Dallas Cowboys after a 24-14 NFC Wild Card victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brandon Jacobs scored two first-half touchdowns before Amani Toomer's score in the fourth quarter secured the win.

Alex Smith caught a six-yard touchdown from Jeff Garcia's pass for Tampa.

San Diego Chargers set up a AFC divisional-round play-off clash with the Indianapolis Colts after a 17-6 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Giants quarterback Eli Manning had another consistent game in their victory over Tampa , throwing 20 out of 27 passes to gain 185 yards.

"Everybody worked well," Manning said. "We did a good job with the short passing game. Receivers getting open. Guys stepped up and made big plays in big situations and that's how we got the win."

New York will play NFC East rivals Dallas, who received a first-round bye, next Sunday.

"We're going to be ready. We're fired up to be going to Dallas," Manning added.

The Green Bay Packers will play the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday in the other NFC semi-final game.

In their game against the Titans, the Chargers trailed 6-0 at intermission but surged into a 10-6 lead in the third quarter.

Another touchdown in the fourth sealed the victory, extending their winning streak to seven in a row and secured their place in the play-offs next Sunday.

The undefeated New England Patriots wil host the Jacksonville Jaguars in the other AFC divisional-round playoff on Saturday.

Next weekend's games will set up the following week's conference championships with those winners meeting in the Super Bowl on Sunday 3 February in Arizona.
