Cycling road race
While Hyde Park is set to stage the triathlon at a London 2012 Olympics, its central London neighbour will also see a little action.
Home to London Zoo and close to the hotels and tourist attractions of the West End, Regent's Park had initially been pencilled in for baseball and softball.
But the decision to drop the two sports from the Games means the planned 10,000-capacity baseball and 8,000-capacity softball venues will not now be built.
The cycling road races, however, which are also set to take in Hampstead Heath, will pass through the park, with seating provided for 3,000 spectators.
