Devon's Heather Fell has missed out on the medals at the Modern Pentathlon European Championships in her final competition before the Olympic Games.

Fell, 25, finished fifth in the individual event at the championships in Moscow on Thursday.

She, and her team-mate Katy Livingston, went into the event while still in comparatively heavy training.

Fell is currently ranked fourth in the world and will be making her Olympic debut in Beijing.

The pentathlete also just missed out on the medals at the World Championships in Budapest, where she came fourth.
