Emily Seebohm, Australia

World Class 2012 in partnership with the British Council bring you the stories of the schools where the dreams begin.

Emily Seebohm

Tipped to follow in the footsteps of Australia's swimming greats, Emily Seebohm at only 18 has already broken three world records, won Olympic Gold in the 4x100metre relay and is a world champion in the 100m backstroke.

Emily's schools

Emily attended St. Margaret's Anglican Girls School in Brisbane up to the age of 14, before moving a few miles up the road to St. John Fisher College.

St. John Fisher College

St. John Fisher is an all-girls school on the outer suburbs of Brisbane City in Queensland, Australia.

The school's mission is to "empower young women to face challenges in life with courage, resilience and dynamism," says Acting Principal, Sharee Lane.

Emily only attended St. John Fisher College a couple of years ago and at that stage was already fully committed to her swimming career, winning a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics as a Year Ten student.

World Olympic Dreams

Emily is one of the athletes being tracked as London 2012 approaches and they strive to make their Olympic dreams a reality.
