Caolan Mooney, who played for Down minors in this year's Ulster Minor Football Championship, is on a month-long trial with AFL club Collingwood.

Mooney has travelled to Australia for the summer training trial with the same club that fellow Down player Martin Clarke played for in the AFL.

The teenager is from the Rostrevor club in County Down and has just finished his exams at St Colman's, Newry.

He helped St Colman's to a MacRory Cup and Hogan Cup double in 2010.
