The latest edition in our series of photographs aimed at conveying Formula 1 in its full glory features the dramatic weather that hit the Sepang track over the weekend of the Malaysian Grand Prix.
The photographs are taken by Darren Heath, who over the last 20 years has carved a reputation as one of the best photographers in F1.
This is Darren's story behind his latest image:
"Spectacular electrical storms in Malaysia are an almost every day occurrence at this time of the year so it came as no surprise that every day of this year's grand prix meeting featured a drenching downpour and dramatic lightning show.
"Post-qualifying on Saturday, one such storm rolled through, depositing literally inches of rain and some of the loudest thunder claps many in F1 had ever heard.
"I positioned myself - laying on the track - at the start/finish line, resting the camera while selecting a very long exposure. After many, many failed attempts, a vicious fork of lightning flashed across the sky above me.
"Events both on and off the track in Malaysia last weekend seemingly summed up in a millisecond of light."
