South Godstone driver Jody Fannin is targeting consistency at the fourth race weekend of the Ginetta G50 Cup.

The 17-year-old has scored points in eight of the nine races this season, and currently sits second in the championship table.

Fannin told BBC Surrey: "It's a good start to the year. We've just got to work hard to get into first position.

"Consistency wins championships. Every point counts, and you've got to try and finish every race."

This is Fannin's debut season in the G50 class, having finished fourth in the Ginetta Junior Championship last year.

"These cars have got three times more power. It's a step up and a lot faster," Fannin continued. "It's a completely new experience but I've got hold of it quite quickly."

The fourth round takes place at Oulton Park in Cheshire on the weekend of 4-5 June, where the Surrey driver has good memories.

"Last year in my first season of racing I won there in the Juniors and set the fastest lap," Fannin said.

"It was a good track for me last year, hopefully I can carry that on this year."
