Ipswich Witches offer Scunthorpe Scorpions no mercy

Kevin Doolan
Doolan has scored 23 points in Ipswich's first two league matches

Ipswich captain Kevin Doolan had no pity for Scunthorpe Scorpions following Thursday's hammering by the Witches.

Doolan's side were convincing 69-24 winners at Foxhall, with the Australian top scoring with 13.

"You can't feel sorry for the opposition, you've got to go at it," Doolan told BBC Radio Suffolk.

"If you're smart, you use it as motivation. If I was on the Scunthorpe side I'd be up at six washing bikes and phoning engine tuners."

The result means the Witches have a 100% record in their first two Premier League meetings this year.

But both of those have come at home, with Ipswich's only away meeting in 2011 coming in a friendly victory at Rye House.

We don't ever want to lose at home, it's as simple as that

"We had to fine tune a few things after that but we've had a couple of home meetings," Doolan added.

"I'd say everyone's sharpened up since then and we're looking pretty good.

"We've got the talent, the drive and the experience in the team.

"We don't ever want to lose at home, it's as simple as that, we're going to go into every match looking to win be it home or away."

Ipswich are next in action when they host Somerset on Thursday.
