Mildenhall Fen Tigers hope exit is temporary

Adams 'positive' over Tigers future

Mildenhall Fen Tigers have pulled out of the National League after failing to find a new buyer.

Previous owner Ray Mascall decided in July that he could no longer commit the time or money to running the club.

At a meeting on Sunday fans discussed the possibility of resurrecting the team ahead of next season.

Team manager John Adams told BBC Look East: "The supporters of this club are phenomenal and a lot of people have good ideas about raising money."

He added: "Money's everything. People who are wealthy in this area, if they want to come in and run the club then that's great.

We're looking at working with the fans, maybe with a shareholder type scheme, or working with whatever new promoter wants to come in

"But we'll see where we go from here."

Over 200 fans attended discussions at the club's stadium, including commercial manager and life-long supporter Neil Day.

"We've not dwelt on the past, we're trying to look forward," he said.

"We're looking at working with the fans, maybe with a shareholder type scheme, or working with whatever new promoter wants to come in."

All of the Fen Tigers' riders have been told they can look for other teams, meaning Adams will have to start from scratch should the team re-emerge for next season.
