Skipping is a good all-round exercise for keeping fit.

It works most of the muscles in the body, improves your balance and co-ordination - and certainly improves your fitness.

All you need to do is pick up the rope and put one handle in each hand.

Starting with the rope behind you, swing it over your head - using your wrists - and jump over it with your feet.

Try skipping for five minutes if you can, incorporating a different drill each minute. This will help improve your endurance and stamina.

You can skip quickly, without taking a step between each skip.

You can hop on one foot, skip backwards (the rope goes the other way), high knees and even skip on the move.
