1607: So Near, So Kranjcar
I'm still confident Croatia will beat Australia and progress.
Well it now seems all Australia need to do is not get blown away by Brazil and draw with Croatia and they are through. Onya Roos!
Kind of frustrating to watch. Both sides had chances but didn't finish!
The Australian team must be rubbing their hands together with glee! This is a great result for them, and it's more than possible that they could pull off a result against Brazil. For my money neither Japan or Croatia look good enough for the second round.
I cannot believe this match is STILL 0-0. How has that ball managed to stay out of the net?
Well, all the players look spent now. Ten minutes left - maybe one of the subs will be able to take advantage of an opponent's exhausted legs or tired mistake.
Well if this does turn out to be a draw, then that's an excellent result for the Aussies who would fancy their chances of qualifying. Who knows they might even get a result against Brazil, which would be something. They did beat them the last time they played them.
To the apparent 57% who think Kawaguchi could star in the Premiership; he was poor even for Portsmouth reserves in the Championship. He's too short, punches too frequently and is erratic. Yes he's very athletic and is having a great game, but he really isn't good enough. Don't get me wrong; great determined character but not a top-class keeper.
The miss of the tournament right there. How did Yanagisawa miss? Use your left peg mate! It's not just to help you balance. Zico must have been pulling out what hair he has left.
Japan need to play more aggresively. They don't have a time to stop and think. Passion!
I would have liked the ref to book the three Japanese outfield players who held up the penalty.
I'm sure there were other occasions when they could have had water. That's taking gamesmanship too far.
We want to see goals - particularly as both these sides need the points.
Fantastic support from the Croatians.
Japan are taking too long to bring the ball forward, and once they do they lose the ball too easily. Croatia aren't playing well either but their height and power gives them a cutting edge.
I am cheering on Japan but to be honest, Croatia are the stronger team now that Kovac is back.
What a save from the penalty!
Croatia will be too strong for Japan. Kovac should play well.
I think Japan just aren't up for it this year. Did you see the way they collapsed against the Aussies?
I'd like a Japan win but think it'll be tough as Croatia looked a good side against Brazil.
I think this will be a good game!
