Wigan have signed Marcus Bent from Charlton on a season-long loan deal.
Bent, who Charlton signed from Everton for £2.5m in Januray 2006, is the ninth signing made by boss Chris Hutchings.
"It is a great deal," said Hutchings. "Marcus has been there and done it. He is a clever player whose game is far more than just about scoring.
"I've always said I will only bring in players who add a new dimension to the squad and I think that Marcus fits the bill. He is a street-wise player."
