Hughes aims to bounce back
Lee Hughes in action for West Brom
Hughes is hoping to find goalscoring form next season
West Brom striker Lee Hughes is optimistic that a full pre-season programme will help him rediscover his scoring touch.

Hughes, 27, missed out on last year's pre-season after being laid low by knee and calf injuries.

The Hawthorns striker reckons his no-goals return in the Premiership was a consequence of the time he missed before the season began.

"Other players and the manager told me that if you miss a pre-season you never catch up," Hughes told the club's official website.

"I didn't have one day in pre-season training and the last campaign didn't count for me.

"Hopefully I can get a good pre-season under my belt and this season the old Lee Hughes will return so I can get back to the form I had when I was fully fit."
