Former West Bromwich Albion chairman John Silk has replaced the late Sir Bert Millichip as president of the Baggies.

West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace said: "Tony Hale is a long-standing supporter and a former chairman and we are delighted to be able to reward him for 11 years' service to the club."

Millichip joined the West Brom board in 1964 and was chairman between 1974 and 1983 before serving as president for 18 years.

Millichip, a lawyer, was also president of the Football Association from 1981-1996.
