Jarrett completes move to Watford
Albert Jarrett
Jarrett did not sparkle for McGhee's Brighton
Watford have signed winger Albert Jarrett from League One Brighton on a one-year contract.

The 21-year-old impressed while on trial with the Premiership newcomers and has been signed on a free transfer.

"It's a great opportunity, not just for me but also all of the boys who won promotion to the Premier League," Jarrett told the club's website.

"I can't wait to take my chance here and am really looking forward to the start of the season."

The former Arsenal schoolboy joined Brighton in 2004 and was subsequently loaned to Swindon and Stevenage.

But Seagulls boss Mark McGhee had a word of warning for Watford.

"If he has gone up there and done the same thing he did when he was here for the first couple of weeks then he probably impressed," he told The Argus. "It will be in the longer term.

"Maybe with what happened to him here the penny will drop.

"They are taking him for exactly the same reasons we did.

"When he came here for the first couple of weeks on trial he looked as if he had something really different.

"He's got that explosive pace, he can cross a ball with his left foot.

"They've taken him up there and seen the same thing but we've never seen it since really from Albert. That's why we're not going to wait any longer."
