England winger Aaron Lennon set to make Spurs return

Tottenham and England winger Aaron Lennon looks set to make his comeback against Manchester United on Saturday after almost four months out injured.

The 22-year-old has not played since 28 December because of a groin problem but is likely to be named on the bench.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said: "He won't start but could be available if we need him for 20 minutes."

Lennon's return is also a boost to England boss Fabio Capello, with the World Cup starting in six weeks' time.

The former Leeds wideman has already had to delay his comeback once, after he suffered a setback in his rehabilitation, and he has had to be patient while he builds up his strength.

Redknapp added: "It would be lovely to have him back, he is a top player."

Another of England's injury concerns, Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole, has recovered from a broken ankle and was an unused substitute in the Blues' 2-1 defeat by Spurs last weekend.

Meanwhile, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson feels right-back Gary Neville could still force his way into Capello's plans for South Africa with the form he has shown this season following a long injury lay-off.

Neville, 35, played just one game between March 2007 and August 2008 and struggled to hold down his place in the United backline last season, but Ferguson believes he he has been back to his best during the current campaign

"I wouldn't be surprised if he went to South Africa," said Ferguson. "It is not my job to say he should go, it is difficult enough for an international manager, but I wouldn't be surprised if Fabio chose him."
