Gulls sign striker Mills on loan

Torquay United have snapped up Peterborough striker Danny Mills on a three-month loan deal.

The 18-year-old signed for Peterborough from Crawley Town in July, after making just two appearances last season.

Torquay boss Paul Buckle told BBC Radio Devon that Mills is a promising prospect for the future.

He said: "They've [Peterborough] got high hopes for the boy - I've seen him play in the reserves a couple of times and he's really exciting."

Mills is the second player to move to the Gulls from Peterborough this season, with fellow striker Scott Rendell signing a season-long loan in July.

"Peterborough have been very good to us," said Buckle. "We've done good business with them."

"We're still looking for a bargain here and there, and we know that with the budget we're working with it's not easy at times, but we're working very hard now to try and establish ourselves as a League Two outfit."

Earlier this week, Torquay midfielder Mustapha Carayol moved to Kettering Town, also on a three-month loan.

Carayol, 19, will be subject to a 24-hour recall after a month with the Blue Square Premier side and will not be able to play in the FA Cup.
