Pulis praise for new-boy Kitson

Kitson scored 54 goals in 111 league starts for Reading

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has praised Dave Kitson after the striker scored his first goal for the Potters.

Kitson was on target after just two minutes in Stoke's 3-2 friendly victory over Southampton at St Mary's Stadium on Tuesday.

Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke: "Kitson looked bright, he scored a good goal and could have had another two."

The 28-year-old became Stoke's record signing when he joined from relegated Reading for 5.5m in July.

Stoke play their only home friendly of the pre-season campaign against Spanish side Osasuna on Friday.

Striker Ricardo Fuller could play a part in that game as he continues to recover from a knee operation.
