Oldham to decide on Davies future

Stockport boss Jim Gannon says the future of on-loan County striker Craig Davies depends on parent club Oldham.

The Wales striker, 22, moved to Edgeley Park on 1 November and has scored six goals in 11 games, including three in Saturday's win over Bristol Rovers.

Gannon told BBC Radio Manchester: "Oldham had their reasons for letting him come out. Hopefully it's worked brilliantly for Craig and Oldham.

"They will decide in January where he will be for the rest of the season."

Gannon has been impressed by Davies since he arrived at County and feels he fully deserved his hat-trick against the Pirates.

"Craig has done brilliantly for us," added Gannon. "Initially he gave us a huge lift and he has threatened to score goals in previous games.

"He does a fantastic job for us because he plays up front on his own and he works really hard.

"He only had three opportunities (against Bristol Rovers) and they were outstanding, clinical finishes on all of them. Great credit to him."
