Williams stays at Stockport
Stockport have extended the loan spell of Hartlepool goalkeeper Anthony Williams for a further two months.

He has already spent a month at Edgeley Park and made four appearances for Sammy McIlroy's side since losing his place in the Hartlepool line-up.

Meanwhile, Williams has apologised to Stockport's fans for a reaction he made to verbal abuse directed at him during Saturday's defeat by Swindon.

"I understand the frustration of the supporters," said the 26-year-old.

"I can assure them that the players are equally frustrated," the former Wales under-21 international added.

"It is never nice to hear derogatory comments about yourself during a game and I did raise my hand towards supporters behind the goal.

"As a professional footballer I should know better. I did not, however, make an obscene gesture and would never contemplate doing so.

"But if anyone took offence at my reaction then I apologise unreservedly," Williams told Stockport's website.
