Diamonds release Peters
Rushden and Diamonds have released central defender Mark Peters after the player's contract was terminated by mutual consent.

Peters joined the Diamonds from Mansfield Town in May, 1999 and started 132 games for the club.

The 31-year-old helped Rushden win the Nationwide Conference title in 2001 and played a part as Brian Talbot's men secured promotion to Division Two last season.

However, Peters hadn't figured in the league since February and is now free to find another club.
