Reading living a fairytale - Ian Harte

Defender Ian Harte says it feels like a fairytale at Reading as they chase promotion to the Premier League.

The Royals are just three points off the automatic promotion places after winning their last seven games.

Harte told BBC Berkshire: "There's a togetherness between the lads. There's an understanding that when you cross the white line we give it our all.

"It's like a fairytale at the club at the moment and it would be a dream to get promoted."

The 33-year-old former Republic of Ireland international joined Reading from Carlisle in the summer and said he knew that promotion was always the goal.

"I knew that I was coming to a strong team and a strong squad of players," he said. "We had a dodgy spell in the middle of the season when we drew too many games, but it's all turned around, we're on a decent run at the moment.

"We've five games to play and I'm sure if we can win them, then we'll go up in second place."
