Ipswich pull out of Nugent chase

Ipswich boss Jim Magilton has revealed the club have pulled out of a loan move for Portsmouth striker David Nugent.

He had been expected to complete a move to the Championship play-off hopefuls this week, but his continuing struggle with injury has put paid to the switch.

Nugent, 22, who moved to Fratton Park from Preston in the summer, is sidelined with an abductor injury.

"The Portsmouth medical people have told us David won't fit be until next week at the earliest," said Magilton.

"Games are running out for us now and we have decided we need to move on and look at other targets, " he told the
